A century from Sam Wood helped Nottinghamshire’s Second Eleven to re-assert themselves on the second day of their friendly against Yorkshire.
Will Root’s 49 and 56 from Anuj Dal also contributed to Nottinghamshire’s progress to 336/5 at the close with Brett Hutton (52) and Matt Cross (12) not out when the declaration came.
Sam Wood reached his fifty (85 balls, 10 fours) in the 8th over of the day.
Root 49 was caught at deep square leg by Jared Warner off James Wainman’s bowling while Wood was caught by Elliot Callis off Karl Carver after guiding the visitors to 230-3.
Yorkshire started their second innings still 35 runs ahead with Andrew Hodd and Elliot Callis opening the batting.
Nottinghamshire made a strong start with Hutton trapping Hodd in the fifth over, lbw for 15. Paul Franks had Callis lbw for 1 in the very next over and Hutton struck in the seventh when he bowled Jonathan Tattersall who had bagged a pair in the match.
Ryan Gibson and Will Rhodes helped Yorkshire to navigate to 63-3 at the close.
