Notts Outlaws captain James Taylor has been included in the England One-Day squad for the seven match tour of Sri Lanka alongside teammates Alex Hales and Harry Gurney.
England will play four matches in Colombo, two in Pallekele and one in Hambantola between Wednesday 26 November and Tuesday 16 December.
Taylor hasn’t featured for England since their ODI victory over Ireland last September having made his limited overs international debut against the same opposition in August 2011. He made two Test appearances against South Africa in August 2012 and is keen to make up for lost time.
“There’s lots to play for this winter with a big tour to Sri Lanka followed by the World Cup and it’s every cricketer’s dream to be involved in that.”
“Since I lost my place in the England side my primary aim has been to re-establish myself in international cricket so I am delighted to have been included,” he said.
“I was told to rack up the runs in county cricket and to deliver more match-winning performances and I’ve had a pretty good year doing that with Nottinghamshire.

Alex Hales and Harry Gurney retain their places amongst England's 16-man squad having already made four and seven appearances in One Day Internationals respectively.
Taylor's ability to rebuild under pressure and score freely in the final overs convinced the selectors to include him in a group which is likely to stay together for the forseeable future with the World Cup looming.
“I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t been a bit frustrated, particularly in one-day cricket,” said Taylor.
“I’ve scored some crucial runs during a period that Notts have become established as one of the strongest limited overs sides and I’m thankful that it has paid off.
“There is so much talent in the England setup and some very exciting young guys and I am confident that the side will be there or thereabouts when it comes to the World Cup.
“There’s a long way to go and I’m just focused on making the most of this opportunity.”
Samit Patel has also been named in the England Performance Programme squad, and will attend a three-week specialist batting and spin camp in Sri Lanka running from 21 November.
