There is only a very select band of cricketers that have appeared in four ICC Cricket World Cup tournaments and Pakistan’s Younis Khan becomes the latest to achieve the feat in this year’s event.

Vastly experienced, the 37-year old has scored over 7,000 runs in a massive tally of 261 ODIs going into this tournament, having made his debut way back in February 2000. He has recorded 7 centuries, with a best of 144.

Younis has spread himself fairly thinly over the years, playing all around the world, including several spells in county cricket.

In 2005 he enjoyed a brief stint on the staff at Trent Bridge, appearing in 5 first class and 3 one-day matches for Nottinghamshire. He made just one half-century for the county, an innings of 53 against Glamorgan at Cardiff.

He remains the only Pakistan international to ever play for Notts and is a true hero in his homeland, having scored 8,327 runs in his 96 Test match appearances, a tally that includes 28 centuries.

The right-handed middle-order batsman enters the tournament in sparkling form, having scored four centuries in just 5 Tests, towards the end of 2014, with an average of 89.

If you believe in lucky omens then Pakistan should fare well over the next few weeks, having won the title in 1992, the last time the tournament was held in Australia.

Pakistan will compete in Pool B and begin their campaign on Sunday with a fixture in Adelaide, against fierce rivals India.

Trent Bridge hosts the fourth Royal London One-Day International between England and New Zealand on Wednesday 17 June. Don't miss the chance to take in what promises to be an absorbing contest and secure your seat now.
