One of rugby’s greatest names is the next speaker at the Nottingham Cricket Lovers' Society on Thursday 1 February.
Rob Andrew, who began his first-class club career with Nottingham, went on to win 71 caps for England, playing in three Grand Slam winning sides and becoming the fourth highest points scorer in England’s history.
He also played in three World Cups, including the final in 1991 against Australia. He went on two Lions tours, winning five caps in Australia and New Zealand.
Andrew then went into rugby administration becoming director of professional rugby for the RFU.
He was an outstanding player at Cambridge, winning Blues for both rugby and cricket, and he captained the university in 1985, playing 17 first-class matches and scoring a century against Notts. He was also selected for several games with the Yorkshire Second XI.
In 2016, he returned to cricket administration and is currently Chief Executive of Sussex CCC.
The meeting begins at 7.30 in the Derek Randall Suite at Trent Bridge and all are welcome to attend. Non-members may pay an attendance fee on the night.
