Nottinghamshire under 17s took 18 wickets in a day to complete a dominant win over Staffordshire inside two days at Oulton CC.
After piling up 480-6 declared thanks to Joey Evision’s 185, and then reducing the hosts to 30-2 on day one, the Green and Golds took total control by bowling out their opponents for just 107.
And as Staffordshire were made to follow on, Notts stuck to their task well to dismiss them for a second time for 312, to win by an innings and 61 runs.
In the home side’s first innings, Josh Porter was the pick of the bowlers as he finished with 4-23, but he was ably supported by Jordan Cook (2-9), Daniel Blatherwick (2-29) and Ishraj Jandu (1-33) as only two batsmen got into double figures.
Staffordshire made a much better first of it in their second innings as Isaac Foster scored 89 at the top of the innings to put on 47 with Brendan Lovatt and 92 with James Clark (27).
Number seven Emrys Hunte (75) and Logan Hughes (36 not out) also fought hard, putting on 52 for the eighth wicket.
For Notts, the wickets were shared around as Evison followed up his batting heroics with 3-63, Blatherwick took 2-44, Cook 2-63 and Porter and Zain Ramzan a wicket apiece.
