Less than ten overs of play were possible on the first day of Nottinghamshire’s Second XI Championship clash with Derbyshire before rain brought a premature end to proceedings at the Pattonair County Ground.
Notts had named a side which contained a number of first-team faces, including Jake Libby, Zak Chappell, Matt Carter and Mark Footitt.
And after winning the toss and electing to bowl, the visitors’ attack quickly made an impact, Chappell bowling opener Ewan Cox for 3.
Play was halted soon after with the score on 11-1, and conditions failed to recover for the rest of the day.
