A charity cricket match, supporting LGBT+ Service Nottinghamshire and outBurst LGBT+ youth group, will take place at Lady Bay on Sunday 23 June.
The Nottingham Lions, a LGBTQ+ community football club founded in Nottingham in 2006, are sponsored by the County Cricket Club and Unite the Union, and will take on a team comprised of local celebrities from 12pm.
Nottingham Wildcats basketball player Siobhan Prior and speed skater Elise Christie will be joined by local journalists Charlie Slater and Robin Chipperfield for the celebrities’ side.
“It’s a cause we’re happy to support and I’m sure it will be an enjoyable occasion down at Lady Bay,” said Director of Cricket Mick Newell.
“The cricket will obviously be played in a light-hearted spirit, and hopefully some funds and awareness can be raised.”
Entry on the day is free of charge.
