A half-century from Sonia Odedra was not enough to stop Nottinghamshire from falling to a 46-run defeat against Lancashire in the Royal London Women’s One-Day Cup.
Odedra, whose four-wicket burst was the difference as Martyn Kiel's side beat Sussex on Bank Holiday Monday, showed her class with the bat by notching up nine boundaries in a score of 67.
Notts were chasing 242 to win after Eleanor Threlkeld starred for the hosts, making a brisk 72 before being castled by Jenny Gunn.
Gunn was the pick of the Notts bowlers, also making the initial breakthrough by dismissing opener Evelyn Jones (25) and returning figures of 2-39 from her ten overs.
In reply, Odedra’s partnership with Teresa Graves (31) was the highlight of the Nottinghamshire innings, but Lancashire were able to take wickets just as the visitors were looking to accelerate their run rate.
The Notts captain departed as the chase entered its final stages, with the run rate hovering around the 10-an-over mark.
And a flurry of wickets towards the end of the contest restricted Notts to 195-9 from their 50 overs.
