Stuart Broad has kept his place in England’s squad for the second #raisethebat Test against West Indies, with James Anderson and Mark Wood being rested for the encounter.
Broad was part of a 13-man squad for the first Test in the behind-closed-doors series, but Anderson, Wood and Jofra Archer were chosen to make up the seam attack alongside stand-in skipper Ben Stokes.
The Nottinghamshire right-armer gave an emotional reaction to missing out on a starting place, telling Sky Sports he felt ‘angry, frustrated and gutted’ at missing a home Test for the first time in eight years.
Broad is joined in the 13-strong party by fellow quicks Ollie Robinson and Sam Curran, with Chris Woakes, Archer and Stokes retaining their spots.
Joe Root, meanwhile, returns as skipper following the birth of his second child, taking Joe Denly’s place in the squad.
The final two Tests of the series will both take place at Emirates Old Trafford, as England look to overturn a 1-0 deficit.
Full squad:
Joe Root (capt), Jofra Archer, Dom Bess, Stuart Broad, Rory Burns, Jos Buttler, Zak Crawley, Sam Curran, OIlie Pope, Ollie Robinson, Dom Sibley, Ben Stokes, Chris Woakes.
