The Trent Bridge Community Trust’s flagship mental wellbeing programme, Notts in Mind, is taking to the City after the successful rollout of the initiative in West Bridgford.
Notts in Mind provides anyone experiencing mental wellbeing difficulties with the opportunity to offload through a 90-minute discussion-based workshop and physical activity session.
Led by qualified coaches, the workshops focus on a range of wellbeing factors around anxiety, depression, healthy living and drug and alcohol misuse. All participants are given the opportunity to direct the conversations in ways that will help benefit them.
The physical activity, meanwhile, represents an opportunity for those present to get active, relieve stress and build confidence.
“Throughout the course of Notts in Mind, we have seen how valuable it is for members of the community to have the chance to speak openly about their wellbeing,” said Ian Richardson, Notts in Mind coordinator.
“That, coupled with the opportunity to be physically active and enhance skills like teamwork and communication, make the sessions both beneficial and hugely enjoyable.
“Through our sessions at Rushcliffe Arena, we have seen participants gain in confidence as the weeks have progressed, and they have been able to build a community of like-minded individuals with whom they can share experiences.
“We’re now able to provide a welcome opportunity for those in the city to get involved, engage in important conversation, and have some fun.”
The free sessions are open to all, and will take place at 1-2.30pm at Melbourne Park, with no prior registration required.
