Shortly after taking the decision to retire following a stellar 22-year career in the professional game, Peter Trego looked back on his time in the game, and specifically on his two years in Green and Gold.
Shedding some tears and holding back more, Trego strikes a proud but modest tone in cataloguing his achievements during two years at Trent Bridge during which he spearheaded a depleted red ball bowling attack in 2020, took on the mantle of matchwinner in the final of the Vitality Blast and nurtured the emergence of a new crop of Nottinghamshire all-rounders.
A ten-time England Lions international, Trego concluded his professional career having amassed 18,827 runs and 646 wickets in the county game with Somerset and Nottinghamshire.
