Ben Duckett was crowned Overall Player of the Year at Nottinghamshire’s End of Season Awards Dinner.
The top-order batter was rewarded for his exploits across all formats in a year in which he was called up to England squads for both red and white-ball cricket.
He was one of six award winners on a night of recognition, with Nottinghamshire members and supporters in attendance as the Green and Golds celebrated their triumphant LV= Insurance County Championship Division Two campaign, and acknowledged the key performers in all formats across the season.
"We've been on a remarkable journey over the last three years, but this season has been particularly special, both in terms of results, and the way players in the dressing room have grown and stood up," said Head Coach Peter Moores
"In my 40 years in the game, my time at Nottinghamshire have been some of the most special, and we are already looking forward to next year because the process is never complete.
"It was brilliant to secure silverware this year, for the players who have worked so hard to reach a goal that was set all of a year ago, and the members and supporters who have been so loyal to us, particularly through some tough periods over the last few years.
"Whilst we are pleased to celebrate a select few individuals for their performances throughout this year tonight, it is, really, a group effort which culminates in success, and we all share in that."
LV=Insurance County Championship Player of the Season - Dane Paterson
Dane Paterson returned for his second season in Green and Gold with the same vim and vigor which saw him collect 54 First-Class wickets in 2021, amassing 56 scalps in 12 games at an average of 22.35.
He claimed career-best figures against Worcestershire at Trent Bridge, finishing with 8-52, the Pears left crushed by the South African’s relentless toil.
With two fixtures still remaining in the County Championship season, the 32-year-old took his 100th wicket for Nottinghamshire, and by doing so in 22 games, became the quickest to a century of scalps since Franklyn Stephenson in 1988.
Royal London Cup Player of the Season - Brett Hutton
Homegrown paceman Brett Hutton ruled the roost with a tournament-leading 22 wickets in the Royal London Cup, at an economy of 4.59 - better than any bowler to take ten or more wickets.
His tally included 7-26 against Leicestershire Foxes, the best analysis in the history of the Royal London Cup.
Vitality Blast Player of the Season - Alex Hales
Alex Hales earned a recall to England’s International T20 side off the back of a barnstorming campaign in the Vitality Blast.
The right-hander blasted 374 runs in 14 innings, totting up four fifties, including a top score of 91 in 33 balls against Derbyshire at the Incora County Ground.
In 2022, his strike rate of 193.78 was the highest of any batter to have had at least five innings in the tournament.
Uncapped Player of the Season - Liam Patterson-White
Academy product Liam Patterson-White continued his development at Nottinghamshire with an impressive season across formats in 2022.
The 23-year-old finished April alone with 18 wickets, and concluded the First Class season with 41 wickets, the third most for any spinner across both divisions, and the top English spinner.
He added two fifties with the bat, averaging a touch under 24 in the lower-middle order, and was called up to represent England Lions in a four-day fixture against South Africa off the back of his red-ball performances.
His batting exploits proved particularly valuable in the Royal London Cup, where, in five innings, he made 141 runs, including an unbeaten 62 against Sussex Sharks. At Edgbaston, he showed his power-hitting ability with a 17-ball 43.
With the ball in the List A competition, the left-armer took 11 wickets at 26.27, maintaining an economy rate below five.
The Charles Vernon Price Memorial Plate - Ben Martindale
Ben Martindale signed his first professional contract with Nottinghamshire in 2022, having graduated from the club's Academy, and made his List A debut in the Royal London Cup against Gloucestershire.
The top-order batter scored 588 runs in 19 innings in the Second XI Championship, averaging 32.66. The 19-year-old’s top score of 93 for the twos came in the red-ball contest against Derbyshire in May.
He also posted 50 off 42 deliveries in an opening stand of 133 with Sol Budinger in a 50-over fixture against Leicestershire.
Overall Player of the Season - Ben Duckett
Top-order batter Duckett scored 1,408 runs across First-Class and T20 cricket for Nottinghamshire in 2022, finishing as the Green and Golds’ top scorer in the shortest format.
His consistency saw him called up to England Lions’ squad for 50 over and four-day fixtures against South Africa and, more latterly, selected in England’s touring party to Pakistan for their IT20 and Test Series.
The 27-year-old’s LV=Insurance County Championship return saw 1012 runs scored at 72.28, including three hundreds and five fifties. His 241 against Derbyshire was the highest score for Notts since Samit Patel’s 247 against Leicestershire in 2017.
In the Vitality Blast, the left-hander blasted 396 runs in 14 games, at a strike rate of 160.32.
