Girls from the length and breadth of Nottinghamshire are being invited to take part, at no cost, in the ‘BatFast T20 Tournament’ during October half-term.

Those who take part will enjoy the experience of facing the bowling of professional women’s cricketers via the BatFast simulator, with a selection of prizes on offer within under 11, under 13 and under 15 age groups.

Each team should consist of four players, with no previous experience of cricket necessary.

Hour long slots to complete a combined 20 overs of batting against the augmented reality elite stars are available from 17-28 October.

List of simulated bowlers:

  • Lucy Higham: Nottinghamshire, Lightning and Northern Superchargers off-spinner.
  • Grace Ballinger: Leicestershire, Lightning and London Spirit left-arm seamer.
  • Sophie Munro: Nottinghamshire, Lightning and Trent Rockets right-arm seamer.
  • Kathryn Bryce: Lightning, Trent Rockets and Scotland right-arm seamer.
  • Kirstie Gordon: Kent, Lightning, Birmingham Phoenix and England left-arm spinner.

BatFast's cutting-edge technology allows participants to enjoy the physical experience of bat on ball, with deliveries appearing to have been bowled by the players listed above. The simulator will also project the numbers of runs scored with each shot.

The competition venue is BatFast, Unit 12, Quayside Court, Colwick Quays Business Park, Colwick, Nottingham, NG4 2JY.
