England Women’s red-ball contest against Australia will constitute part of a multi-format Ashes series also featuring three IT20s and three ODIs. It will be the home side’s second Test Match at Trent Bridge, their first at the venue since 1979 and the first time on home soil that they have played Test cricket over five days.

“We are thrilled to have this opportunity to create history for the women’s game at Trent Bridge,” said Nottinghamshire Commercial Director Michael Temple.

“Coming on the back of record crowds to watch the Trent Rockets at our venue this summer and recently becoming East Midlands’ regional hosts, our commitment to the women’s game is tangible and clear.

“Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers will treat the Women’s Test Match with all the same determination to deliver great experiences and memorable occasions as we do each year for the men.

“At Trent Bridge, Test Match cricket is the format that we hold most dear and I believe the support of our loyal audience from across the region will help us secure crowds worthy of the occasion.”

Tuesday 5 September will see England’s men return to the East Midlands, with New Zealand - the guests for a captivating Test match in 2022 - once again the visitors, this time for a clash in the T20 format.

Nottinghamshire’s international summer will be played to a conclusion by England and Ireland in the 50-over format on Saturday 23 September, a month prior to the World Cup in India at which Jos Buttler’s side seek to defend the crown they won at Lord’s in 2019.

“With both T20 and 50-over internationals for the men’s team added to our Women’s Test Match, it means that we get to host cricket at the highest level in all formats at Trent Bridge in 2023,” Temple continued.

“Our standing as a world stage venue is at the heart of our identity, central to our business model and a critical strand of the economy and employment market within our borough, our city and our wider county.

“With a memorable 2022 season soon to come to an end, we can all take heart during the winter months by excitement about what is to come.”
