The Blaze will travel overseas to fine tune their preparations for the 2024 season, with a tour to Abu Dhabi confirmed for the new year.
The region’s first ever pre-season trip abroad will run from 5 to 15 February and will see a T20 tournament and two 50 over fixtures played at the Zayed Cricket Academy Complex
Opposition for the tour will include the United Arab Emirates national team, as well as Lahore Qalanders.
“This is a really exciting opportunity for us to gear up our preparations for the new season in a fresh environment,” James Cutt, The Blaze’s DIrector of Cricket, said.
“You can’t understate the value of getting outside on grass and playing competitive cricket, and dedicating a full ten days to readying ourselves for April.
“The weather and facilities will ensure that we get the most out of that period of time, and it also represents a great chance for us to bond as a group ahead of the season.
“The quality of opposition will help test us, the chance for batters and bowlers to get outside is really important, and playing in a new country will be a great learning opportunity for a lot of the squad.”
