Seamer Brett Hutton has been ruled out of action for a number of months with an Achilles injury sustained in Nottinghamshire’s County Championship fixture against Somerset in April.
Scans have revealed the extent of the injury which kept him out of contention for the Green and Golds’ subsequent four-day clash against Warwickshire.
Notts’ fast bowling ranks have nonetheless been bolstered with Olly Stone returning to action at Edgbaston, and he is again available to face Lancashire in the next round of the County Championship.
That is the first of three remaining First-Class fixtures in the opening block of games before Notts break for the Vitality Blast at the end of May.
Josh Tongue is, meanwhile, continuing his rehabilitation back from a pectoral injury which required minor surgery in the winter.
