Monday 27 May

2.49pm: Match abandoned - despite the best efforts of the grounds staff, the surface remains too wet and the match is abandoned as a draw.

Onto the start of the Vitality Blast on Friday at Trent Bridge!

2.26pm: We haven't heard any official news yet of another inspection, but there are even more dark clouds on their way into Worcester. The destiny of this fixture still hangs in the balance.

1.40pm: More brief spells of rain, which unfortunately only mean more uncertainty. We await news for the scheduling of the next inspection, which we anticipate to be at 2.30pm.

12.45pm: A further inspecton will be taken at 1.30pm; lunch is currently being taken.

11.38am: There's still hope at New Road! Lunch to be taken at 12.30pm, with an inspection thereafter. The sun is currently out, the sky looks a little kinder too.

10.50am: A delayed inspection has managed to take place in between showers. Weather permitting, we will have another inspection at 11.30, but a brief yet heavy downpour might have put the brakes on those plans.

9.55am: Happy Bank Holiday Monday to our readers - we've had, so far, a dry and mostly sunny morning here in Worcester. As it stands, the covers are off, Joe Clarke and Luke Fletcher are assessing on the square, and a pitch inspection is due to take place at 10.30am.

We have another mixed forecast today, but there is hope that we can achieve some play on this final day. Further updates to come.

Sunday 26 May

3.27pm: Play abandoned - a slightly delayed inspection has just taken place, and another timely shower has extinguished any doubt of abandonment.

We keep our fingers crossed for some play on the final day.

1.20pm: Sadly the outfield remains wet, and we will have another inspection at 3pm. The covers are coming back on in preparation for potential showers.

12.45pm: Conditions have certainly improved since this morning - we did experience a brief light shower, but the sun is out and the covers are off in preparation for an inspection at 1pm.

9.30am: Good morning from Worcester. After a near-perfect day of cricket for the Green and Golds yesterday, their hopes of continuing their efforts immediately this morning have been extinguished as heavy overnight rain has meant that there will be no play until at least after lunch.

The forecast for the afternoon doesn't provide much cause for optimism, either.

We will provide further updates as they come in.

Saturday 25 May

10.15am: Good news! We will be starting on time this morning, as the surface passes the umpires' 10am inspection.

9.18am: There will be a pitch inspection at 10am here at New Road - with the sun out, there is hope that we could have play today.

9.00am: Good morning from New Road, where the sun has appeared but the commencement of our fixture with Worcestershire remains uncertain.

The grounds staff have been working tirelessly through the night to allow the fixture to go ahead; the run-up to the strip was particularly of concern during yesterday's inspections. For now, we await a decision from the umpires as to whether play can get underway this morning or, indeed, at all today. Stay tuned.

Friday 24 May

1.32pm: Play abandoned. Following an inspection which took place at 1pm, the umpires have deemed the surface unplayable and there will be no play at all on day one in Worcester.

10.00am: Good morning from the newly-renamed Visit Worcestershire New Road for Nottinghamshire's Vitality County Championship fixture with Worcestershire. We will have no play until after lunch due to parts of the playing surface being too soft, some still holding excess water from heavy downpours earlier in the week.

An inspection is currently scheduled to take place at 1pm.
