Liam Patterson-White led the way with the ball as Nottinghamshire 2nd XI took complete control of their friendly with Kent at Polo Farm.

Patterson-White returned figures of 3/50 from 21 overs, while James Hayes picked up 2/30 from his eight overs, to reduce the hosts to 150-7 in their second innings by stumps, just 77 in front.

The advantage that was pushed home by Patterson-White and Hayes had been earlier set up by a Green and Gold total of 327, which gave the visitors a first-innings advantage of 73.

That had been set up by the efforts of top-scorer Sam Seecharan, who made 73, while there were also contributions down the order from Rob Lord, Travis Holland, and Tom Giles.

With the wind at their backs, the Notts attack wasted little time in reducing the hosts to 35-3, with Patterson-White taking his first scalp in between Hayes’ brace.

Chris Benjamin’s counter-attacking 40 from 51 balls briefly held them up, only for Francis Moore to end his cameo before Patterson-White picked up two more to leave Notts firmly in the driving seat.
