Coaching, Officiating, and Volunteering

Increasing and improving the quality and diversity of our workforce

There are plenty of ways get involved in cricket besides simply playing the game.

Weather as an umpire, scorer, coach, groundperson or volunteer, you can make the game possible at yours club and in your community. Follow the links for more information.

Coaching

Whether you are keen to facilitate sessions at your local club, or setting your sights on progressing through the caoaching pathway, there are ample opportunties for you to reach your goals.

Umpiring

With various courses available for umpiring officials at all levels, you can assume your vantage point for the best view at any ground.

Scoring

Our game simply wouldn't be possible without a dedicated army of scorers across the county. Learn the tricks of the trade and gain official qualification in Nottinghamshire.

Young Officials Programme

The Notts Young Cricket Officials Programme initiative gives young officials high-quality training and utilises key partners and club mentors to support them as they begin their journey as a qualified official.

Volunteers

Volunteers are the heartbeat of our club and league network. From ground staff, to coaches, from officials, to committee members, our game simply wouldn’t be possible without them.

Groundspeople

Ground staff are fundamental to cricket. No other surface affects the sport it is played on more than a cricket pitch, and ground staff are vital in the enjoyment and safety of those who play.

Safeguarding

Club Safeguarding Officers are vital members of the club and key to making an environment safe, welcoming and friendly for everyone to enjoy the game of cricket.

Club Safeguarding Officers need to complete three sets of training:

Safeguarding for Specialist Roles (online)
Safeguarding for Committee Members and Club Safeguarding Officers (online bolt on module)
Safe Hands workshop (face to face and run by the local County Cricket Board)

These courses should be updated every 3 years.

Club Safeguarding Officers must be over 18 years of age and hold a current ECB issued DBS Certificate.

Club Safeguarding Officers should always complete the “Safeguarding for Committee Members” module.

The course is available to everyone who has an ECB e-learning account and those with an eLearning account can go directly to the course by clicking this link.

To enquire about upcoming courses for Club Safeguarding Officers please the deputy County Safeguarding Officer, Andrew Wilson, at andrew.wilson@trentbridge.co.uk.
