PART THREE, JULY 2022
Before this season the Library has probably been one of the better-kept secrets at Trent Bridge. But since Peter Wynne-Thomas sadly passed away last July the Heritage Team has been busy reorganising the room so that Club members and supporters can enjoy visiting it on matchdays and other occasions.
The Library will be open on every home County Championship matchday during the rest of this 2022 season.
Full opening times will be included in the Matchday Guide for each domestic fixture (available in the ‘News’ section of the Trent Bridge website, with links from social media channels) and, while we will be trialling different opening times at the start and end of each day, the Library will always be open from the start of the lunch interval until the end of the tea interval.
- You’ll be welcome to explore the thousands of books on the shelves, browse through the latest issues of cricket magazines, flick through ‘coffee table books’, have a chat with other supporters, see some ‘treasures’ from the Club’s archives and tell the staff how you would like to use the Library in future.
- Starting in August we’ll be trialling a lending service for Club members, offering the opportunity to borrow from a selection of popular books. And we’re always pleased to hear from people who would like to donate books, magazines and memorabilia to the Library.
- We also plan to open the Library on some non-matchdays and to organise a variety of events; we’re also keen to hear from local organisations that might want to use the Library for their own meetings. More information on all of these developments will be available on the Trent Bridge website – in the ‘News’ and ‘History & Library’ sections – and on social media.
- If you are researching a cricket story or your family history we are keen to help. Research visits can be made on non-matchdays by appointment, so please email heritage@nottsccc.co.uk explaining the information that you’re looking for and some days on which you could visit.
We want the Library to become a lively and well-used part of Trent Bridge, so we’re always interested to hear how and when members and supporters would like to use the room. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome; please speak to a staff member when you’re in the Library, or email heritage@nottsccc.co.uk
