Born on 6 May 1985 in Edmonton in London, Aaron Courteney Thomas is a right-hand bat and wicket-keeper. He was educated at Arnold Hill School and gained a degree in Business Computing from Leeds Metropolitan University.
He played for West Indian Cavaliers in the Notts Premier League from 1999 to 2015, with one season at Cuckney in 2003 and was the Notts Premier League wicket-keeper of the year in 2007. A key performer in the Cavaliers’ long period of success, he played 217 games in the League scoring 4,604 runs @27.40 with 219 catches and 77 stumpings.
In 2001, he played two List-A games for the Notts Cricket Board - versus Bedfordshire at Wardown Park, Luton and v Oxfordshire at the Christ Church Ground, Oxford. In the latter, he scored 7no and took a catch and a stumping. Thomas also represented the Notts Cricket Board in six Minor Counties Knock Out Trophy games in 2001 and 2002.
He played eight Second Eleven Championship and seven Second Eleven Trophy games for Notts Seconds between 2001 and 2003. In 2002 he represented Notts Under 17s. In July 2003, Thomas played his one and only First-Class fixture for Notts v India A at Trent Bridge. There was no play on Day 2 and in a contrived finish India A won by seven wickets, Thomas did not bat and took one catch. Between 2004 and 2007 Thomas had appearances for the Second Elevens of Leicestershire, Middlesex, Northants and Worcester. He played for Bradford/Leeds University Centre of Cricketing Excellence for 2005 to 2007, with Harry Gurney as a team mate, in the days before they were granted First-Class status.
He currently resides in the West Midlands.
