Born in Nottingham on 13 October 1993, Adam David Tillcock was educated at Trent College, South Notts College and Loughborough University; he is a right-handed batsman and a slow left-arm bowler. He was associated with Mansfield Hosiery Mills as a youngster and joined Caythorpe in 2009; he subsequently played for Farnsfield between 2010 and 2012. Tillcock represented Notts at Under-13s, Under-14, Under-15 and Under-17 levels.
He first played for the Notts Academy in 2009 when they were playing in the Bassetlaw League. He appeared in 100 matches for the Academy in the Notts Premier League between 2010 and 2015 scoring 1,674 runs @26.57 and taking 124 wickets @24.50. He was a regular between 2011 and 2015 in the Notts Second Eleven, playing 32 Second XI Championship, 27 Second XI Trophy and 34 Twenty/20 matches, his Championship best score was 115 versus Yorkshire at Notts Sports Ground in 2014 and his best championship bowling was 4-22 versus Warwickshire at Notts Sports Ground in 2015.
In 2013 he was selected for the Notts first team versus the touring Bangladesh “A” team on 14 August in a fixture which was granted List-A status. With Notts chasing 293 to win off 50 overs, they were struggling on 118-5 in the 32nd over when Tillcock joined skipper Paul Franks at the crease. They added a Notts List-A record of 170 for the 6th wicket, Tillcock was unbeaten on 97 off 70 balls (11 x 4, 3 x 6), with Notts winning by four wickets with seven balls to spare. This was his only appearance for the Notts first team.
After his release from the Notts Academy in 2015, Tillcock joined the West Indian Cavaliers in the Notts Premier League for three seasons and switched to Kimberley Institute CC for 2019. From 2016 to 2019, Tillcock represented Lincolnshire CCC helping them to three successive Minor Counties Eastern Division titles playing in 16 championship games scoring 987 runs @47.00 and taking 54 wickets @30.79; he also appeared in 11 Minor Counties Trophy games and for the Second Teams of Kent, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire.
Tillcock has a Sport and Exercise Psychology Degree from Loughborough University and played six First-Class matches for Loughborough MCCU between 2017 and 2019, scoring 139 runs @23.16 and taking a single wicket at a cost of 401 runs. His top score was 60 v Kent at Canterbury in 2019, during which season he was appointed Captain.
In the winter of 2019/20 he was coaching at Hampton Central Cricket Club in Melbourne, Australia.
