New Zealand’s high-scoring top-order batter Colin Munro signed for Notts Outlaws as an overseas player for the duration of the 2023 Vitality Blast.
The 35-year-old left-hander, who helped Trent Rockets to glory in The Men’s Hundred in 2022, came to Trent Bridge as the 12th highest run-scorer in the history of the T20 format worldwide, having scored almost 10,000 runs.
In 62 International T20 appearances, Munro has struck three centuries – a number beaten only by Rohit Sharma – and boasts a career strike-rate of 156.44. He has represented New Zealand on 123 occasions across all formats of the game.
Munro is very much one of the 21st Century’s white-ball travellers, having played in Australia, the West Indies, India, and Pakistan in addition to three English counties.
Colin Munro scored 206 runs in nine matches for the Trent Bridge-based Rockets in 2022, at an average of 41.2 and strike rate of 168.85. so knows the ground well.
“Trent Bridge is a great place to call home,” said Munro at the start of the campaign.
He played in twelve Blast games for The Outlaws, scoring 333 runs at 27.75 with two half centuries, the best of which was 87 against the Birmingham Bears at Edgbaston – made at a strike rate of 202.33 with four fours and nine sixes.
