Josh Mierkalns joined the playing staff in 2006 after representing the County at the various Youth levels.
In 2006 he appeared in two Twenty20 matches, one ‘Sunday’ League game and the First-Class match v West Indies ‘A’, when he scored 18 in his only innings – the match was ruined by rain. After then he played only for the Seconds and never really struck form with the bat and left the club at the end of the season.
He returned to club cricket and scored runs consistently for Caythorpe in the Premier League and has subsequently played for both Radcliffe-on-Trent and Gedling Colliery. His brothers Caleb and Daniel have also appeared for a number of clubs in the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Premier Leagues.
