Bob Winrow, who died whilst on holiday in Rothesay, Bute on 10 August 1999, was the elder brother of the better known Nottinghamshire cricketer, Harry Winrow. The brothers came from Manton near Worksop, Bob being born on 30 December 1910.

He was a left arm bowler who joined the Trent Bridge playing staff in 1929. He remained on the staff until 1936, but in those eight years he played only five First-Class matches. His only notable achievement was his innings of 137 v Somerset at Trent Bridge in 1935, when he had been drafted into the eleven as a bowler.
In the course of this innings he and the Notts captain Heane added a record 220 for 8th wicket.

In 1937 he took an engagement with the Scottish club Drumpellier, continuing with that side for the remainder of his career. Qualified by residence he appeared in four matches for Scotland in 1949; in one of those, his side came up against a promising Yorkshire opener - Len Hutton made 146no and shared a stand of 261 with John Wilson.

His brother emigrated to South Africa and died there in 1973 at the age of 57.
