Signed England wear from cricketing legends and a host of money-can’t-buy experiences top the bill for the Trent Bridge Community Trust’s Christmas auction.

Delivered via Nottinghamshire and The Blaze sponsor John Pye Auctions’ online bidding platform, lots up for auction include matchworn boots signed by former England captain Joe Root, matchworn England and Nottinghamshire apparel signed by recently-retired cricketing great Stuart Broad, and Trent Rockets teamwear signed by The Hundred winner and Notts icon Samit Patel.

A signed Notts Outlaws T20 shirt, signed Nottinghamshire and The Blaze bats and Trent Bridge hospitality are also available, while bids are also being sought for a wealth of cricketing experiences – including the opportunity for a junior cricket-lover to lead the Outlaws onto the field at a Vitality Blast home game or enjoy a media experience day at a home T20 fixture.

The auction is open for bids now, and closes at midday on Thursday 21 December, with bidding taking place online.

Star lots include:

• A 2023 Notts Outlaws shirt signed by the Outlaws' playing squad
• A junior media experience day at a Trent Bridge T20 fixture
• A junior mascot experience at a Trent Bridge T20 fixture
• A chance to take your place in the official Notts 2024 team photo

• Matchworn boots signed by Joe Root
• Trent Rockets apparel signed by Samit Patel (lots 12 to 15)

Proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Trust, as Nottinghamshire’s official charity seeks to continue its life-changing work in the community.

Initiatives operated by the Trust include Positive Futures – which takes a prevention-based approach to improving the behaviour and raise the aspirations of young people, through one-to-one mentoring and group activities.

Forget Me Notts, meanwhile, supports individuals who are living with dementia by offering physically and mentally stimulating activities in a safe space – and also facilitates a network of peer support for carers.

“We’re hugely grateful for the support of those who have donated items or experiences to our auction – some of which are sure to be extremely sought-after, such is their rarity,” said Mandy Wright, Head of Community and Development.

“Every penny we receive is crucial as we look to continue making a positive impact across our county, breaking down barriers and providing a sporting chance to those in need, young and old, across our city and county.

“During a season of giving, this auction is a timely reminder that those less fortunate than ourselves need a helping hand all year round. And I daresay one or two of these lots might make an ideal Christmas gift for a cricket-lover too.”
