Date of birth: 8 November 1998 Sunderland, County Durham
Nottinghamshire First Class debut: 7 July 2019 vs Somerset (Taunton)
Although born in the north-east, Liam Patterson-White is very much a homegrown talent, having worked his way through the Nottinghamshire age groups whilst developing his craft at Farnsfield Cricket Club.
The former England Under-19 international impressed on the county’s pre-season tour of South Africa in March 2019 and was blooded into first team cricket just four months later.
The County Ground, Taunton, has proved a happy hunting ground for the all-rounder, having taken his maiden five-wicket haul on debut in the south-west despite a mid-game bout of tonsilitis which saw him frequent hospital. He returned to Somerset to score his maiden First-Class century from only 116 balls in 2021.
The undoubted potential of his first couple of seasons was delivered in spades in 2022 when he was the most successful English spin bowler in county cricket, taking 41 championship scalps at 27.95 apiece.
Working alongside a talented batch of spinners at Trent Bridge, he now has in excess of 110 First Class wickets, whilst he broke through to Notts Outlaws’ T20 team in 2024 with a string of commendable performances, including a high score of 44* off 21 balls on debut versus Lancashire Lightning and best figures of 2/9 away at Durham.
