Twenty20 Cup
Durham Dynamos v Notts Outlaws
The New Zealander was looking on the bright side despite two losses in three games, and believes the competition is helping us learn how to play good one-day cricket.
He said: "You have to be positive because this past week has seen a big improvement in our one-day performances.
"Against Leicestershire we didn't bat very cleverly but still took them to the last over with some good bowling and fielding and Yorkshire beat us with one outstanding individual performance rather than us doing anything wrong.
"There's a lot more thought going into our work now, with good development and thought patterns, and that bodes well for the future.
"Twenty20 is very much about knowing when to absorb and build momentum and we have begun to do that with bat and ball.
"This next game is important because although two or three may go through from the group we will need to get a win on the road and the sooner we do that the better.
"But from what I have seen in the first three games we are learning fast how to do well in the competition."
