Notts Outlaws 170-8 (Read 43)
Yorkshire Phoenix 174-8 (Patel 2-30)
Yorkshire Phoenix won by two wickets
Read top-scored with 43 in our total of 170-8 but could only stand and watch as Aussie one-day specialist Ian Harvey smashed 74 off 32 balls.
Yorkshire reached 92-1 off the first six overs but we then pegged them back with four quick wickets and forced the game into the final over, only for Richard Dawson to hit the winning runs.
But Read was still optimistic and said: ?We looked dead and buried after the start but the way we fought back was terrific. I think it shows we have what it takes to do well in the competition.
?We may have lost two out of three but we?ve been competitive in both. We only lost today because of one classy innings from Ian Harvey.
?He?s got a track record in Twenty20 and produced an exceptional knock. But we stuck at it, showed real determination and almost snatched it in the end.
?If we had hit another 10 or 15 runs I think we would have been safe. I was beaten by a crafty slower ball from Craig White but if I could have stayed in for two more overs it might have made the difference.?
