Nottinghamshire trio Ryan Sidebottom, Stuart Broad and Graeme Swann were on the losing side as England Lions beat the senior squad by five wickets in a Twenty20 warm-up fixture in Dubai.
Head Coach Andy Flower had previously stated that all Lions players were ‘under consideration’ ahead of back to back Twenty20 internationals against Pakistan on Friday and Saturday.
Hampshire’s Michael Lumb finished the match unbeaten on 58 as the Lions successfully chased the 158 runs needed for victory.
Lumb opened alongside South African born wicketkeeper-batsman Craig Kieswetter who hit 81 off 66 balls before he was caught by Swann of Sidebottom’s bowling.
Sidebottom finished with 2-30 from 4 overs having trapped Michael Carberry lbw whilst Broad dismissed Andrew Gale and Swann finished empty-handed.
