Information Technology support firm Orchid IT have struck a one-year deal to become shirt sponsors for Notts Outlaws' campaign in the revamped Friends Provident t20.
The firm’s logo will adorn a new club shirt to be worn for the first time when the Outlaws begin their Twenty20 programme against Worcestershire Royals at New Road on Thursday 10 June.
A home clash against Derbyshire Falcons at Trent Bridge on Friday 11 June will hold added significance for Orchid who hold a wide sports-sponsorship portfolio with established links with Nottingham Forest, Derby County and Nottingham Panthers.
“Having the company crest on the Notts Outlaws shirt is quite simply a dream come true for the company and for me as a Nottingham lad,” said Orchid’s Managing Director Brett Critchley.
“We have some fantastic partnerships with other sporting clubs and to be able to add the Notts Outlaws to this list is great for us although I will have to stay neutral when they play against Derbyshire Falcons!
“We like what the club is about and the people there and we were made to feel like part of the family right from our first meeting.
“The timing of the deal is good for us ahead of what should be a fantastic season and I know that I’ll have no shortage of engineers wanting to provide IT support during the Friends Provident t20.”
Orchid will take responsibility for all IT support at Trent Bridge during the term of the deal and have the option to extend the agreement.
Having formed in 1997, Orchid now employs 50 staff and has an annual turnover in excess of £10million. The company offers IT support to more than 200 clients and was named Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year in 2009.
Nottinghamshire Deputy Chief Executive Lisa Pursehouse said: "We are absolutely delighted to have Orchid IT as our new official sponsor for the Friends Provident t20 campaign.
“The nature of this deal means we will enjoy a particularly close working relationship with Orchid IT and we are always especially keen to align ourselves with local companies. I am sure this deal will prove to be mutually beneficial."
