Primary schools throughout Nottinghamshire have the chance to win a day out at Trent Bridge thanks to a competition being launched this week.
Pupils will be asked to provide a caption to accompany the image of Nottinghamshire captain Chris Read and his team mates with the winning entry earning a day at Trent Bridge for their classmates.
Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club and local business advisers PKF are promoting the competition as part of PKF’s sponsorship of community cricket. The winning school will be invited to watch Notts play Hampshire at Trent Bridge in the LV= County Championship in May.
The prize includes cricket coaching, an opportunity to interview some of the club’s players before the match and the chance to play on the outfield during the lunch break.
“We have been sponsoring the Nottinghamshire cricket team for ten years and support all its work with schools,” said PKF Partner Paul Ellis.
“Trent Bridge is a great place to watch cricket and the Nottinghamshire team is a great asset to the county. After the success of last year’s competition which saw children from Normanton on Soar Primary School participate in a coaching session with Luke Fletcher and Andy Carter, we hope others can enjoy the benefits of the prize in 2010.”
All Nottinghamshire primary schools will be invited to enter the competition.
