Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell will make a late call on the inclusion of Andre Adams before he finalises his team to face Hampshire in the LV= County Championship.
Adams missed the win over Durham with a knee strain but has made a good recovery and is in contention for a recall.
Matthew Wood, Alex Hales and Andy Carter also have an eye on a place with Hashim Amla and Mark Wagh dropping out. Amla has travelled to the West Indies to join the South African one day squad whilst Wagh has been gven leave to sit law exams.
“This is an important game for us because we are in a confident frame of mind but we need players to put in big performances in the absence of an overseas player,” said Newell.
“Enforced changes create opportunities for others and those that come into the side need to do enough to show that they deserve to stay there.”
Luke Fletcher is ruled out with a stomach strain leaving Charlie Shreck, Darren Pattinson and Paul Franks to carry the seam attack. Steven Mullaney’s presence provides an additional bowling option and Newell may elect to move the former Lancashire all-rounder up the order.
Ali Brown is also in good form and Nottinghamshire have already completed three victories over Hampshire this season.
