Mick Newell will name an unchanged Notts Outlaws team for this evening’s Friends Life t20 match against Durham Dynamos (play starts 5.30pm).
Notts have an excellent track record in limited overs cricket at the Emirates Durham ICG having beaten the Dynamos their in 40-over and 20-over cricket last season.
Durham will visit Trent Bridge for the return fixture on Thursday evening (play starts 7pm).
“Durham have a very experienced team and the likes of Mustard and Blackwell are very big hitters,” said Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell.
“We enjoy playing at the venue and we know that winning would give us a decent lead in the group and that has to be our target.”
Notts remain undefeated in the Friends Life t20 this season having won four of their matches and enduring a rain-affected no result against Leicestershire Foxes at Grace Road.
“We’re batting with a lot of confidence at the moment and even when we’ve lost a wicket early in the innings we have continued to score at a rate of around ten an over,” said Newell.
“There is no complacency and even when you are on a good run it is important to address things that we know we can do better.
“Andy Carter and Luke Fletcher have worked on improving the accuracy of their Yorkers and we have reaffirmed the importance of having a top six batsman facing the final two overs to cash in with nothing to lose.”
Alex Hales will open the batting alongside Riki Wessels this evening with Samit Patel, Adam Voges, David Hussey and Chris Read completing a formidable top six.
Notts Outlaws team to face Durham Dynamos: Alex Hales, Riki Wessels, Adam Voges, David Hussey (C), Samit Patel, Chris Read, Steven Mullaney, Scott Elstone, Luke Fletcher, Darren Pattinson, Andy Carter
