Nottinghamshire’s fixtures for the 2023 season have been announced across the three domestic competitions; the LV= Insurance County Championship, the One-Day Cup and Vitality Blast.

Notts begin their red-ball campaign in Division One, having been promoted as champions last year, with a visit to Hampshire and the hosting of Somerset.  Four further red-ball games will be played before the T20 block begins in earnest in late May.

Five further First-Class fixtures will take place across June and July, three of which are at Trent Bridge, with the remaining three in September.

The Vitality Blast group stages will take place in full between 26 May and 2 July, with Notts Outlaws’ opening game in the tournament a home derby against local rivals Derbyshire Falcons.

The One-Day Cup, with its group stages and initial knockout rounds contested during the month of August, will see its final staged at Trent Bridge on Saturday 16 September.

Having secured the Division Two title on the final day of the 2022 season, Nottinghamshire conclude their preparations for top-tier competitive action with a three-day friendly against Loughborough UCCE at Trent Bridge starting 27 March.

Following the opening fixture away at Hampshire, and Notts’ first home game in Division One since 2019 against Somerset, the Green and Golds visit Middlesex and Northamptonshire, and welcome Lancashire and Essex, in the opening block of red ball fixtures.

In the midst of those games, The Blaze - the East Midlands new regional women’s team - will take to the Trent Bridge turf in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, hosting Central Sparks on 22 April in the 50-over competition.

The Outlaws begin their quest for T20 glory against Derbyshire Falcons on 26 May, the first of three Friday night clashes under the Trent Bridge lights.

On 4 June, The Blaze’s Charlotte Edwards Cup clash against Sunrisers will precede the visit of Lancashire to face the Outlaws, the first double header between the two Trent Bridge-based outfits.

County Championship games against Warwickshire at home and Somerset away are nestled within the T20 block, prior to the Outlaws’ final Blast group stage game against Leicestershire on 2 July, with quarter-finals the following week, and finals day on 15 July.

Three further County Championship rounds take place in July, before the eight-match group stage of the One Day Cup sees the Outlaws in action at Trent Bridge and Welbeck during the month of August.

The 50-over competition’s quarter and semi-finals are scheduled for 25 and 29 August respectively, with the winner qualifying for the mid-September showpiece at Trent Bridge, following Kent’s victory in 2022.

The final three rounds of the County Championship also take place in September with trips to The Spitfire Ground and Emirates Old Trafford preceding the final fixture of the season at home to Middlesex.

“Seeing our fixtures gives us a fixed point to look forward to, and that gives the coaches and the players a big boost and an added focus,” said Nottinghamshire Head Coach Peter Moores.

“Ultimately, we have three formats in which to perform, and we have lofty ambitions across all of those.

“We have shown what we are capable of in red ball cricket over the last two years, and the opportunity to get back into Division One, amongst the best sides in the country, is exciting.

“We hope the first fixture against Hampshire will be the start of a special six months, albeit we know we will go through highs and lows during that time.

“Likewise, in T20 cricket, we want to return to the high standards we have set ourselves over the last five years; we have great competition for places, and evidenced by the performances of the lads coming through in the One-Day Cup, and that will drive us to be the best we can be.

“It will be important, regardless of the format, that we make Trent Bridge a fortress. We are excited to play in front of our members who have shown us so much support during my time here.

"We’ll give it everything to bring silverware back to Nottinghamshire come the end of a long, hard season.”
