Trent Bridge, home to the 2023 Women’s Ashes Test, beginning 22 June, and the third edition of The Hundred, is set to host two episodes of the much-loved Cbeebies show Bedtime Stories.
Airing on Friday 9 June, Nat Sciver-Brunt, all-rounder for The Blaze, Trent Rockets and England, will read alongside her wife and Trent Rockets teammate Katherine Sciver-Brunt.
The duo will become the first LGBTQ+ couple to feature on the programme, and will read Find Your Happy by Emily Coxhead, a book all about what a wonderful thing it is to feel happy.
With vibrant illustrations, the uplifting story follows a sloth who shows little ones what to do if they’re feeling sad or angry, frightened or shy. It’s the first of two stories to be read by the couple for CBeebies.
The show will air less than two weeks before Nat’s England side take to the Trent Bridge turf against Australia in the first five-day Test on home soil, with over 11,000 tickets having been snapped up already.
70,000 tickets have already been sold for the Metro Bank Women’s Ashes Series, which will see three T20 Internationals followed by three One Day Internationals after the red-ball opener.
A win would see England take a positive first step towards reclaiming the Women’s Ashes for the first time since 2013/14, when the Three Lions won Down Under.
Tickets can still be secured here…
On 14 July, Abtaha Maqsood, the first woman to wear a Hijab while taking part in The Hundred, follows in their footsteps when she reads Not Now, Noor! by Farhana Islam and Nabila Adani to mark South Asian Heritage Month.
The heart-warming tale is about Noor, who is curious to find out why the women in her family wear headscarves. It’s the first of two stories Abtaha will read for CBeebies.
The three cricket stars will appear on CBeebies Bedtime Stories ahead of an exciting summer for women’s cricket, particularly at Trent Bridge, with the Women’s Ashes kicking off in Nottinghamshire before Trent Rockets’ women seek to better their third place finish from 2022.
Limited tickets remain for the Rockets, and can be purchased here...
