The Blaze have confimred the 19 players on the region's first official Emerging Player Programme for 2023, with six counties represented in the squad.
The programme recognises outstanding players of potential aged between 13 and 16, and provides the pathway through to the region’s academy.
The group has been training at The Blaze’s new East Midlands base, Trent Bridge, through the winter, enjoying access to the plethora of auxiliary support provided by the region, ahead of friendly fixtures scheduled for the summer.
“We have a fantastic group of young players at The Blaze, who we are looking forward to seeing grow and develop over the next few years and beyond,” Regional Talent Manager, Jack Mousley, said.
“There have already been a number of successful player transitions from last year’s more informal programme onto our Academy, so to have The Blaze EPP coming into full force this year is incredibly exciting.
“The level of talent we have here reflects the excellent work going on both at grassroots and in the counties of the East Midlands, and I’ve got no doubt of the bright future this group has.”
