Daisy Mullan has joined The Blaze on loan ahead of the opening Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy fixture against Central Sparks at Edgbaston.
The Thunder all-rounder will be available for the opening six rounds of the domestic competition, with the exception of The Blaze’s fixture against her parent club on 6 May.
She provides cover for several players tied up with international commitments and returning from injury.
“We’re in the unique position of having a number of players unavailable,” Head Coach, Chris Guest, said.
“But that opens up opportunities both for players within our existing squad who are well-placed to make a step up, and some from outside, as is the case with Daisy.
“We think it is a good move for both parties. She is a player of great potential who we think can fit in nicely with the existing group, while hopefully she will benefit from game time and exposure to our environment.
“We want to ensure we have a squad which possesses enough depth to be robust and competitive, and ultimately capable of getting the season started on a positive footing, and believe this signing puts us in a better position to do so.”
A versatile batter and seam bowler, Mullan signed her first professional contract with Thunder in 2022, the same year in which she represented Manchester Originals in The Hundred.
Last year, she played three matches in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, including a commendable batting performance against eventual champions Southern Vipers.
