Tom Loten hit an unbeaten 86 as Nottinghamshire began their response to Warwickshire’s first-innings 388 in their Second XI Championship clash at Lady Bay.
Loten’s 152-ball stay included 14 fours and two sixes as Notts reached 178/6 at stumps.
Earlier, Luke Fletcher secured the key wicket of centurion Chris Benjamin, before also picking up the scalp of Ollie Sutton (0), to finish with figures of 3/40 in the visitors’ first innings.
There was another wicket for James Hayes (2/72), two apiece for Fateh Singh and Tom Loten and one for Thomas Giles as the Bears were dismissed after lunch.
