Josh Beer took three wickets and top-scored as Nottinghamshire’s U18s were finished as runners-up in the U18s County One Day Cup Plate, defeated by Sussex at Kibworth.
Batting first in the 50-over contest, Sussex made 318 before being dismissed in the penultimate over, Beer finishing with figures of 3/57 from ten overs.
There was a wicket apiece for Byron Hatton-Lowe, Akand Gangotra, Jacob Hughes, Travis Holland and Mihir Patel.
Beer hit 47 in the run-chase, while Sam Seecharan made 46 and Toby Lambert 37, but the Outlaws were ultimately dismissed 52 runs short of their target, bowled out for 266 in the 47th over.
