Liam Patterson-White hit a brisk century as Nottinghamshire’s Second XI enjoyed a positive opening day of their friendly against Hampshire in Southampton.
Batting at five, Patterson-White hit 14 fours and four sixes in his 109-ball stay at the crease – including a century stand for the fifth wicket with Dane Schadendorf – before being dismissed for 102.
Schadendorf himself made 33, with significant contributions from Conor McKerr (90) and Sam Seecharan (65) as the visitors made 390 before being dismissed at the Utlita Bowl’s Nursery Ground.
Hampshire negotiated the final three overs of the day without losing either of their openers, and will resume on 10/0 on day two.
