BBC sports presenter and commentator Eleanor Oldroyd is the guest of the Nottingham Cricket Lovers’ Society on Wednesday 6 March in the Boundary’s Edge suite at Trent Bridge (7pm).
Eleanor is a very familiar voice on BBC Radio 5 Live, covering a range of sports and news events, and has a particular passion for cricket.
Last summer, she covered all eight Test Matches in the English summer and had the honour of ringing the five-minute bell on day five of the Ashes Test at Lord’s.
In addition, Eleanor has worked at 12 Olympic Games and commentated on several significant royal events, including the Funeral of Queen Elizabeth and the Coronation of King Charles.
Eleanor's apperance will be preceded by a talk on A.O. Jones by heritage volunteer Peter Smith. Jones was captain of Nottinghamshire for 14 seasons at the beginning of the twentieth century, played in 12 Test Matches for England and led the county to its Championship triumph in 1907.
Membership of the Society for the season costs £15, with a charge of £5 to attend an individual meeting.
