Josie Groves’ unbeaten 88 carried The Blaze Academy to a thrilling one-wicket victory over Loughborough University at Brockington.
The all-rounder hit 13 fours in her 101-ball innings, swiping the winning runs through cover in the 49th over.
She arrived at the crease with The Blaze 64/4, marshalling the chase expertly as the visitors overhauled Loughborough’s 231 all out.
Earlier, Hayva Abbott had starred with 4/17 from 5.1 overs, while Maria Andrews took 3/22 as the hosts were dismissed inside 47 overs.
