Five wickets for Dan Cole and a half-century for Byron Hatton-Lowe were the standout performances as Nottinghamshire’s U18s were defeated by Leicestershire in a two-day friendly.
Cole also took one wicket in Leicestershire’s first innings as the hosts made 230/7 declared in their first innings at Loughborough.
Notts made 169/5 declared in their first innings, an 85-run stand for the fourth wicket between Akand Gangotra (47) and Finn Moran (48) providing the foundation for the Green and Golds’ total.
Cole then ran through the Foxes’ middle and lower order, with four wickets in consecutive overs, to finish with figures of 5/20 from 8.2 overs as Leicestershire made 167/9 declared.
And despite Hatton-Lowe’s fifty from 69 deliveries, Notts were dismissed 73 runs short of their target, dismissed for 155.
